Performance analysis and comparison for existing hot in-place recycling equipment
With the continuous application of hot in-place recycling technology, equipments from either imported or domestic independent R&D continuously enters into market. By classification of heating technology, there is nothing more than two types---infra-red heating and cycling hot-blast heating, the application of which contributes a lot to development of such technology in domestic. However, along with the deepening of cognition in this industry, both advantages and disadvantages are emerged continuously.
Now comparative analysis is as follows:
1. Infrared heating technology
Mix liquid gas or propane with air, burn at surface of sintered metal fiber felt, then infrared ray would be translated to heat the pavement through radiation.
Advantages:
. Gas would be fully burnt with high heating temp., with certain penetrability, which has a high heating efficiency toward pavement.
. Equipment structure is relatively simple, small size is available to make. (However, highly concentrated function for certain units make a bigger body shape and bring difficulty during transition)
Disadvantages:
. Severely aged for asphalt
Temp. of heating source reaches 900-1100 normally, after heating ,transient temperature of pavement surface would reach 250-300,generating massive asphalt fume and burning at position of asphalt filling glue, which would bring seriously aging during construction, and impact recycling quality.
. Serious site emission of smoke and gas
Excessive heating temp.would lead to serious emission of asphalt smoke and fume, especially for situations like construction sudden pause or meeting asphalt flushing or crack pouring area.
. High potential safety hazard
Site gas filling goes contrary to current “safe production regulation”, which has very strict rules against it, gas filling without acceptance condition is strictly prohibited. Due to equipment size and immobility, there are many difficulties in realizing gas filling into equipment. Therefore the most common situation is filling in the night secretly without authorization by gas truck, which brings great hidden trouble to safety. Meanwhile, it’s also potential risk for gas filling equipment parking curbside whether at construction intervals or in the night.
. High requirements for site operators
Due to the large number of gas pipeline connectors on units and poor operating conditions, which requires site operators to be qualified to adapt themselves to emergency. n"'>. Serious site emission of smoke and gas
